Renowned filmmaker Alexander Mitta has passed away at 92, as confirmed by TASS news agency citing his son Eugene.
"My beloved father left us today. We love him deeply and grieve his loss," Eugene Mitta shared.
The family hasn't revealed the exact cause of death, though it's known the director had battled cancer for years.
Mitta was a celebrated Soviet and Russian director, actor, screenwriter, and producer. In 2004, he received the prestigious title of People's Artist of Russia. His notable works include *My Friend, Kolka* (co-directed with Alexei Saltykov), *Burn, Burn, My Star*, *Dot, Dot, Comma*, *The Crew*, and the TV series *Border: Taiga Romance*.
