In Kaliningrad, law enforcement agencies have detained Vladimir Sorokin, a lawyer and member of the Yabloko party. The announcement appeared on the Telegram channel of his colleague, lawyer Roman Morozov.
According to a source, Sorokin has been charged with financing extremism (Article 282.3 of the Russian Criminal Code). According to the investigation's version, in 2021, he transferred funds to the FBK (Anti-Corruption Foundation), which by that time had already been declared an extremist organization.
A court, which will take place on Sunday, September 7, will determine a preventive measure for Sorokin, as reported by "Pervy Otdel" (The First Department).
It is worth recalling that the Anti-Corruption Foundation was recognized as extremist by a decision of the Moscow City Court on June 9, 2021.
Vladimir Sorokin is a lawyer and a member of the Yabloko party. In October 2023, he was elected to the bureau of the party's regional branch in Kaliningrad.
