Charitable organizations linked to maestro Valery Gergiev have obtained nearly 2 billion rubles in state financing since the Ukraine conflict began, according to Novaya Gazeta Europe's analysis.
Following Russia's full-fledged military offensive against Ukraine, Gergiev-affiliated nonprofits saw a significant increase in government funding. Their allocations rose from 425 million rubles in 2021 to 872 million rubles in the current year.
